Cairns kiddos kidding around

Well it’s been a great last 2.5 weeks. Luke’s been adapting well to being a big brother. He loves to help my with Charley – from wanting to hold her (all the time) to giving her kisses, from burping her to teasing her by taking away her dummy.

Charlotte’s up to 7 lb 5 oz – I had to take her in to check on the cold she caught from Luke (gotta start sharing somewhere!) – so that’s an increase of 7 oz since birth, but almost a full pound since we were discharged from the hospital. She’s settling in to something of a routine – awake most of the morning – followed by a long nap in the afternoon. Awake in the early evening, and then a short nap, followed by a bath, followed by sleeping surprisingly well at night. We hope the sleeping well at night sticks – but we’ve decided to just enjoy each night as it passes 🙂 Every few days I manage to have both of them nap at the same time – but inevitably, when one skips their afternoon nap, so does the other – it’s either win-win or lose-lose!

Here are some photos from the last week:

A happy big brother:

She smiles! (and that’s not wind! She screams when it is!)

The only photo I remembered to take when we went to Red Lobster for dinner. Both kids did great – Charley slept under the table in her car seat the whole time!

Luke LOVES his bike!

Charley giving her Daddy a big hug:

Tummy time (she hates it):

My Dad came over the other day – and Charley fell asleep in his arms (in a very awkward position!)

And she’s found her thumb!

Luke holding “Sha-shoh” or “my baby”:

Love the pictures especially the one of Luke lying beside Charly and patting her on the back (that’s what it looks like to me 🙂 ). BTW what is Tim’s birthday pie? or is that even what it is?
