Charley’s First Bath (at home)

Trying to work out a bath time routine with a two year old is a bit tricky. When it was just the three of us, Luke would have his bath last thing at night – he’s screech and scream and wear himself out. We started the first couple of baths before Luke went to bed – but that was making her go to sleep earlier in the evening than we’d like so we’re now bathing her downstairs just before she needs to go to bed.

But before we switched routines, we had the first bath – and of course, Luke was helping out!

He started by giving his tractor a bath:

Then I set to work washing the wriggly little screamer:

Luke took a turn too:

One unimpressed little girl:

Now she’s a bit happier (now that she’s dry and warmer!)

Charlotte will sometimes have a little nap while getting dressed, or bathed (during her first bath at the hospital, she screamed the first 30 seconds and then promptly fell asleep). This onesie is brought to us by Uncle Nick, Auntie Yolandi, and Chelsea (it says “hunny bunny”):

And we’re awake:

She LOVES her soother (even if it is huge!)

Time for a cuddle with her big brother:

In the UK pacifiers/soothers are called a “dummy” – Luke loves to eat “gummy” candies. He calls “gummies”, “bumbies”. Therefore, Charley’s “dummy” is a “bumby”.

And another kiss:

“Cheese”

Being a big brother is hard work – you can really work up a sweat:

SO cute. How on earth are you bending over like that right after a c-section. You are supermom!
