Christmas at the Cairns’

So today was Christmas decorating at the Cairns’!! Whoo-hoo! We picked up our tree yesterday @
Terra. It was exceptionally freezing and snowing – but it was all winter-y and Christmas-y. Only $30 (CDN) for a huge tree!!

I think Luke’s wondering why his mummy and daddy brought a tree inside… I mean think about it from their perspective – never having experienced Christmas before and all of a sudden there’s this smelly thing in the living room and mummy and daddy put these bright sparkly things on it and get all excited and there’s music and … no wonder he seems confuddled!

So after we put the tree up (yesterday) and put the lights on and started putting our decorations on, it fell over with a tremendous bang!

After various “solutions” (including the big (10 kg) bag of whole wheat flour to “weigh the tree down” and balancing the tree stand with CD cases) – it stands!

Now if only we measured before buying …

Unfortunately you can’t see the star at the top of the tree, but here’s Luke with the star before it went on the tree:

So that’s our Christmas so far. There will be a lot more posting in the holidays.

Fingers crossed Luke doesn’t start walking and pulling the tree down. But I personally think that this’ll be the most excellent incentive for mobility EVER!!

Merry Christmas! (in advance!)

You must have had a great day yesterday! I really miss Tim for purchasing the Christmas Tree.
When he was allowed to organise the Chritmas decorations, he’d purchase a tree that would have been better suited to the City Hall in Belfast! Enjoy!
