The final 21 hours

All things being equal (not being pushed back on Saturday AM, baby not coming on his own, etc., etc.), we’re now approximately 21 hours from us arriving at the hospital to get this little guy on his way. Hopefully both Tim and I will sleep tonight, but neither of us are getting our hopes up on that given the number of times we’ve woken up the last few nights.

It’s quite surreal that pregnancy is coming to an end and parenthood is knocking at the door. I’ve been very blessed with what some may call the world’s easiest pregnancy – sure it’s had it’s moments, but despite all the stresses (moving across the country, buying a house, finding jobs, etc.), it hasn’t been the litany of horrors some describe it to be. Right now though, I’m ready to call it quits just the same. Being pregnant loses its appeal when you start to realize just how big the baby is and that the longer he stays inside, the bigger he gets for coming out 😦

I’m still hoping I’ll go into labour sometime today – mostly because Tim discovered that getting the amount of drugs right for an induction is a bit hit and miss – too much or too little and it’ll take forever. But I trust my doctor and while 7 am is too early for me, he’s a professional!

To those who keep checking to see if our baby has arrived – sorry for the delay! Babies do create their own schedules – that’s for sure!! But once he’s out there will be lots and lots and lots of news and pictures!
