So the car is back on the road. In the past 12 months we have spent the following:

$980.00 on a problem with the engine

$375 on the starter motor

$300 on the brakes

$255 on a new battery

$200 fixing the window washing line

$300 on oil changes (ok so we had to change the oil before the trip and just after the trip as we have a diesel and I didn’ want to mess about!)

$450 on new tyres

That’s almost $2500. Not to mention the $350 we had to spend on the broken window

Car ownership sure does mount up

Entry filed under: incidents.

It never rains…….. If they come to Toronto….

I love not having a car….that and the cost to fill your car with petrol here would add up to $2500 in like 2 weeks. Sheesh!

The cost of petrol is expensive in the UK (The cost of being green I am afraid) the tax on fuel in the UK is the highest in the developed world (almost 60p goes in tax) and then you are taxed again – the total price is subject to VAT at 17.5%! thats why its over 1 pound a litre – for those living in the USA I think thats about $6.50 a gallon! madness
