It’s an 8 lb turkey!

Well, I suppose he’s not really a turkey, but here’s the news about today’s ultrasound.

We went for our scan today at 1:15. It’s scary news, but very exciting just the same. So much for being curious about whether or not the baby is big enough. Turns out he is a whopping …. 7 lbs 12 oz!!! He’s put on 2 lbs in 3 weeks! He’s big, his head is big (not abnormally so – but I guess like his mum – I had a big head when I was born too), he’s very active, his heartbeat is very strong. All-in-all I’d like it if he came sooner rather than later so that he doesn’t get much bigger before he’s out!!

Oh – and to-be-confirmed tomorrow after my doctor’s appointment, but apparently my due date has been changed based on the last ultrasound … Nothing quite like finding out  when you have 11 days left, that no, in fact, you have 7 days left!

So basically, the little guy has increased 33% in size in 3 weeks. And he due date has gotten 33% closer. Entertaining day to say the least. We’ll let you know tomorrow if there’s any other news!

Oh – and here’s a picture of me from tonight:

Wow that’s all so exciting!!! Can’t wait to meet the little guy and hopefully he will come on out of there since we know he’s going to just fine on the size portion. 🙂
