An Inconvenient Truth or a Big Lie?

Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” was sent out to all schools in the UK by the government. A parent was alarmed by the fact that the movie was shown in science class uncontested. The movie was shown unchallenged and was held up as true in all respects. The parent/school governor judicially reviewed the British government’s decision and effectively Gore’s movie was put on trial. The judge’s verdict was that the movie was “alarmist” and “grossly exaggerated.” Indeed it can only be shown in schools if 9 fundamental errors are contradicted by the teacher immediately after the movie is shown.

So what are the nine lies? below is a London Evening Standard graphic that helps parse it all down to the base level!

The BBC report is here

Full London Evening Standard report is here

The full reported decision is not yet up on the relevant site so if you want the full judgement leave a message and I will search for it later

EDIT – As Derek has pointed out in the comments Mr Gore won the Nobel Peace prize – at least someone else has been as bewildered as me – what has global warming got to do with peace?? see here for a fantastically funny piece in the Telegraph

Check out the 2 minute mark in this video. Lying is OK if it serves to win a political argument per Al Gore. Where have I heard that before. The Swedes are reverting back to their Quisling ways.

I love the comment by Jeremy Mason on that BBC article posted by Derek!

“The liberals and the PC crowd are having their delusion raised to Nobel status”

Also as anyone from Northern Ireland knows crooks, terrorists and thieves have won the peace prize before today!

Oops…I meant the Norwegians. Sorry to all of my Swedish friends. I am sure my affront was similar to calling a Canadian, American.

I think Mac that the peace prize is Norwegian government appointed and the Chemistry and Physics prizes are Swedish government initiatives. I think Sweden and Norway was one country??? maybe??
