Life after the Rainbow Curtains
Sat 1 Mar, 2008
In the room Luke and I shared in the hospital, the two beds were separated by rainbow curtains which allowed for some level of privacy. There was of course, a complete lack of sound-proofing and we’re learning that the little guy does do a lot better at sleeping when not being awakened by other another baby’s crying! (good thing he wasn’t a twin!)
We were discharged from the hospital on Wednesday and have since been settling into life at the farm. Here’s a picture of Luke on the drive home:
He wasn’t allowed to wear his snowsuit home because it had too much padding to ensure he would stay in the car seat in an accident.
He really is a little guy - that’s Luke in an infant car seat!
Here’s a picture of him checking out his new digs!
That night Luke got his first bath since the hospital. Unfortunately Mummy and Daddy aren’t used to bathing a wriggly little baby, but fortunately it did pass without incident (unless busted ear drums count!)
He’s had another bath since and didn’t scream as much - he doesn’t really mind his head being washed, but he doesn’t like being cold (and therefore cries when his diaper/nappy’s being changed, or his clothes are being changed - usually occurring at the same time given his propensity for “watering” the change table at every change).
Here’s an adorable picture of Tim and Luke:
And lastly, a picture of what Grandma got for her grandchildren - Luke loves it - it plays music and “nature sounds”. We’ve also discovered that he loves cello music (Yo Yo Ming to Tim!)

He is so precious! I wish I could hold him and Charles could give him some good advice on the first few months of life. Congrats, friends!
